FAQ

  • Do you accept profit-share?

No. Unfortunately, that’s never worked very well for me personally.

  • Can I hire you for non-game related work?

Yup! I’ve done personal gifts, one-shot comics and children’s book art before in the past.

I do not however, work on one-off portraits of original characters without visual reference.

  • Can I hire you for an existing project?

If you need back-up, I’m happy to assist with supporting CGs / characters. If you are willing to commission a test for style match, we can go from there. If you want to me take over / revamp an old project, that is doable as well.

  • Can I hire you for webtoon / serial project?

Episodic Visual Novels with breaks in between might be doable. The weekly webtoon grind is a bit too grueling for me, sorry. If I have that energy, I’d rather reserve it for my own passion projects.

  • How long will it take to receive my commission?

I will let you know during the time of commission. Typically, you can expect updates on multiple assets per week. If you need something faster, communicate with me and we’ll see what can be done. Generally, people I have worked with say I am very fast.

  • How many changes can I make?

Each phase of the process will allow for three revisions. If you need additional revisions within reason, generally, that’s fine. I don’t want to charge for extra revisions, because I don’t find joy in endlessly revising. If you are a ruthless perfectionist, we will not be compatible.

  • Do you offer character design?

Sort of. Please refer to Rules & Policy Page.

  • What's the difference between Cell shade & Soft shade?

Cell-shade is more hard lines in shading, similar to that in anime. It gives it a crisp 2D look. In soft shade, the colors are more blended to make it look more 3D.

You can refer to the Art Styles page for more info. Hope that helps.

  • How many expressions does the MC pack include?

It should include everything a character needs for the entire game. You can of course request specific faces needed. Expressive, outgoing characters will have more in their file than reserved, introverted characters. Each characters’ expressions will be more or less unique to them.

  • What do you draw / not draw?

Please refer to the Rules & Policy page.

I reserve the right to decline commissions I am uncomfortable executing. That said, normally, I have not had many problems.

  • When will you be Open again?

Keep an eye out on the status bar in the header. If I’m closed, I’ll typically be available again in a few months, unless I’m fully booked out. You can email and ask if you’d like for an estimate of when I’m next available.

  • Do you do Logos / UI ?

No. I do not understand typography. It is a different skillset. Please budget for a professional to make your logo & UI. I can always tell when an indie dev decides to do it themselves. I promise your project will be far more professional and polished with a proper logo. It is also a key element for all marketing materials.

  • Where are you based / What time zone?

I am based in New York, so I’m on EST / Eastern Standard Time. If you’d like, we can coordinate to figure out a day/time to best go over feedback together if you prefer doing adjustments live.

  • Can I use your artwork elsewhere?

The characters showcased on this website belong to their respective owners, so please ask for the authors’ permission instead.

  • What tools / software do you use?

Clip Studio & Wacom Cintiq Pro 16
